Coop Conversations: Streamlining a Satellite Search

We want your feedback! Join in one of our upcoming Coop Conversations to help solve a Coop challenge. The Coop Council would like to streamline the search process it uses to look at potential satellite locations while honoring and protecting the interests of the Coop community.

Do you think The Coop should streamline a search for a future satellite location? What are your ideas and suggestions for the best ways to do this?

All Coop Conversations will take place in the Coop Community Room. Great Coop snacks will be provided in thanks for your feedback and ideas!

Hi MamaJ, thanks for your response. Currently The Coop is not considering any specific satellite opportunities. Instead we are in the early stages of talking with the Coop community about whether it makes sense to streamline a search process so we are prepared to pursue opportunities in the future. Stay tuned as we discuss what makes the most sense for our Coop.

Is there any way you can revisit the Waterbury location options for a new satellite location?
I really feel strongly that it would be a fantastic opportuity, both for the coop and the community!

Sid and Pinkyoga, thank you for the comments. The first round of small group discussions completed this week but you should feel free to contact General Manager Kari Bradley or any Council member for an in-person discussion. The Council will consider the input so far at its September 4 meeting and plan next steps if there are to be any. Sid, our apologies for the confusing descriptions. This has proven to be a difficult topic to communicate in writing.

I think there should be full and complete discussion. With so many empty storefronts across Cental VT and the coop's special niche I don't understand the competition worry or need for fast track.
Please also think about using plain English. It took me 5 reads to figure out you were talking about another store and not cloud computing.

Maybe yes, maybe no. I feel both ways about a sat store for HMC.

IN either event: I feel the first thing to be done is to estimate financial situation that we need before we can even consider a SAT store, ANYWHERE.
