Community Partnerships

Vermont Foodbank

Hunger Mountain Coop works closely with the Vermont Foodbank to reclaim quality produce that would otherwise go to compost. The Coop also has an ongoing collection bin in the Front End where individuals can donate food. During the holiday season, Coop Member-Owners pack bags of groceries for the Foodbank to distribute to needy families in time for the holidays.

Capital City Farmers Market

The Coop has a community partnership with Montpelier's extrordinary Farmers Market and sponsors their Thanksgiving Farmers Market each year. Supporting our local farmers is an integral part of our business and also part of our Mission.

Basement Teen Center

The Coop works with the Basement Teen Center of Montpelier to provide healthy and nutritious food to teens in our community. This partnership helps to advance the Basement Teen Center’s goal to provide healthy snack options and meals to teens while educating them on the benefits of healthy life-long eating habits.

Community Services

Outreach Projects
The Coop provides discounts to Member-Owners who volunteer for organizations whose work is in line with our Mission.

School Tours

Hunger Mountain Coop offers school tours for kids of all ages. School tours include a store tour, an educational presentation, healthy snacks to sample and goodie bags to bring home! Contact Community Relations to schedule a tour for your class or community group!

Workshops and Classes

Workshops focus on a variety of subjects that are in line with our Mission and are presented by well-informed members of our community. Check out our calendar for upcoming workshops!

Register Donations

Our Coop facilitates community giving by offering our shoppers the opportunity to donate at the registers to a cause. Register Donations support organizations ranging from short-term aid (in the case of a natural disaster or emergency at a local farm) to long-term (in the case of fundraising for a new Senior Center or funding food shelf initiatives). If you are interested in having your organization considered for an upcoming Register Donation contact Community Relations.

Donations and Sponsorships

Hunger Mountain Coop contributes to school functions, fundraisers, community groups and citywide events that align with our Mission. To make a request, fill out a Sponsorship Form or Donation Form and drop it off at the Customer Service Desk at The Coop.

Tabling at The Coop

Hunger Mountain Coop provides Tabling opportunities as part of our mission to educate the community. Tabling is a forum for community groups (non-profit, educational, families, children, and the arts) to share educational materials with Member-Owners and shoppers of Hunger Mountain Coop. Interested in sharing valuable information with our shoppers?  Great! Just fill out our Tabling Request Form and return it to Member-Owner Services or drop it off at Customer Service.
